Help feed the cows at F.R.I.E.N.D. Animal Sanctuary

On bonfire night, Saturday, 5th November, one of our friends is raising money for F.R.I.E.N.D. Animal Sanctuary, which relies on volunteers and donations, by having her hair shaved off!

She’s doing it to raise money to feed the cows there, who have a wonderful life roaming freely on many acres of land and need hay during the winter months when the grass doesn’t grow.

What to do when the workers of a factory have been laid off overnight?

Louise has an original idea: why not pool the compensation money to hire a hit man and to liquidate the boss? Motion accepted, so Louise goes in search of the gem they need and unfortunately comes across Michel, a stinky security specialist. Michel, who is busted, gladly accepts the deal but proves so inept that he sub-contracts the job to improbable novices.

Moreover, as the factory was a mere branch of a multinational company, it is no bed of roses to find the one who actually made the decision to outsource its activities. But Louise will not give up so easily.

The Taqwacores, Film Monday 7th Nov 7.30pm

Yusef, a first-generation Pakistani engineering student, moves off-campus with a group of Muslim punks in Buffalo, New York. His new “un-orthodox” house mates soon introduce him to Taqwacore – a hardcore, Muslim punk rock scene that only exists out west. The Taqwacores deals with the complexities of being young and Muslim in modern-day America.

Yoga classes at Pogo, Saturday mornings

Yoga classes return to Pogo Café on Saturday mornings! Classes run from 10:00 to 11:30.

Spaces are quite limited as we can only fit about ten people at a squeeze. You need to bring your own mat.

The class is on a donation basis – these will be put to a good not-for-profit use!
